Guitar

Aside from a bike and a polly doll set, daughter also got a guitar for her 6th birthday! Hubby bought it at one of the stores near the riverwalk. She was jumping up in joy when hubby hand it to her.

New Place

 I love my new apartment. I had to move out of my last place because the management company is renovating the building. I didn’t want to leave at first, but now that I found such an awesome place I am happy that I was asked to leave. Sometimes things happen for a reason. I love the neighborhood the apartment is in. It is trendy and fun, and there are great shops and restaurants close by. I am also glad I am allowed to get satellite TV. I went to http://www.direct.tv/ immediately when I heard they would let me put a satellite dish on my balcony. Another perk is that now I live closer to my job so I barely spend any time commuting. I hope that I can stay here for at least a few years before I have to move again. I figure the next time I move is when I get married, so it probably won’t be for a while. For now I just plan on hanging out, having fun, and working on my career.

Akesha's Birthday Bash

Our daughter Akesha celebrated her 6th birthday last April 15th. Yep, she was born on Tax Day! Hubby and I called her our tax baby...lol! How fast time flies, she's already six years old. 

Last Friday, we had pizza/cheese bread and cupcake party at her class. The highlight of that day was the goodie bags and ice cream cone cake balls that I made.

 After she had her dental appointment last Saturday, we took her to Peter Piper Pizza. She was having a great time playing and used all her $10.00 worth of tokens...lol! 

On her actual birthday, we drove downtown to visit the Buckhorn Museum and Texas Ranger Museum.

After exploring the two museums, we headed to the Riverwalk and had our dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. We had a fantastic time celebrating our daughter's birthday. 

She was ecstatic when we got her a new bike, a guitar, a yoyo and a Polly dolls set. Happy birthday again anak!

Moving to California

My sister is moving to California, and I am so excited for her. I think she will gain a lot of independence being away from the family, and it will be a great experience for her. I am going to miss her, but I am sure I will visit often and we will talk on the phone all the time. I’ve been trying to help her get organized for the move, and we’ve been working hard to get everything together. We went out there for a weekend to find her an apartment, and luckily, we found one pretty fast. It’s in a trendy area with lots of bars and restaurants, so I think she will do well there. Now that we have that taken care of, we are starting to put together the details. We already found out about direct tv California and scheduled the movers to come and unpack her apartment. I feel like things are coming together nicely, and that her move will go smoothly. My mom and I are going to go with her and help her for the first week, so that will be fun. After that, she’ll be all on her own, and I know she’ll love it.

Have you ever seen the movie Beauty and the Beast? Beauty and the Beast is one of my daughter’s favorite Disney movies. She loves the story of princess Belle and his knight shining armor, the Beast.

Cardinals

I'm always fascinated with birds. I love watching them from our deck patio or even from our room window. There's plenty of birds to see in our backyard.

This type of bird has a distinctive crest on the head and a mask on the face which is black in the male and gray in the female. The male is a vibrant red, while the female is a dull red-brown shade. Cardinals are active songbirds and sing a variety of different melodies.
